Course Key Facts

  • Pre-Course Study: Comprehensive pre-course study, including a Course Study Book, Pre-Course Assessment Questionnaire, and E-Learning Modules covering, Basic Fire Awareness, Fire Extinguishers, and Fire Doors. Study materials and e-learning courses are provided by the trainer.

  • Course Duration: 5 days of interactive in-person training allowing ample opportunity for disucssions and questions. 

  • After Course Assessment: Completion of an assessment portfolio consisting of a set of questions and undertaking three fire risk assessments in medium-risk premises. 

Medium-risk buildings may include but are not limited to:

Residential buildings occupied by less than 50 persons who may include temporary or transient residents who may be unfamiliar with the building, or residents who have some impairments; or retail and commercial buildings occupied by less than 100 staff and the public; and is,

  • Less than 7-storey in height above ground floor level and has no occupied basements

  • With internal travel distances of less than 60 metres

  • With no abnormal hazards

  • With a floor area of less than 600 square metres

  • Constructed of Traditional, or lightweight timber frame, or External Wall System

Assessment Methods

  • In-Course Assessment: Candidates will have the opportunity to complete some portfolio work during the course.
