CITB have introduced a new initiative called the Employer Network simplifying the way levy paying employers can access funding for training support. Training can be undertaken in anything that supports construction employees and can be online or in person. The scheme has reduced time consuming applications and can result in significant savings for the employer, with 70% of course fees being paid directly by CITB. Course:
Leadership and accountability are key aspects for anyone who holds a directorship or is appointed as a top-level manager. The planning, running and upkeep of policies to comply with duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 is an essential part of these roles. These people will be held to account by law enforcers, the Courts and the public if a serious breach of duty happens on-their-watch.
Aim:
The course is designed to address any gaps in knowledge and understanding of the employer’s general duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA) and the implications of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007.
Who should Attend:
Anyone who is a director or top-level manager with authority to exercise control and the direction of an organisation’s aims and objectives.
Course Outline:
• Classification of Law in England and Wales
• General duties stated in Part 1 of HSWA
• Representatives of the ‘Body Corporate’, HSWA Section 37 offences
• Enforcement of HSWA and subordinate legislation
• Punishment and penalties – Sentencing guidelines
• The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007
• H&S Management Systems and H&S culture.
Duration:
2-hours. Held at a location of your choice. This course can also be conducted using either Zoom or Teams applications.
At the completion of the course delegates will be given a certificate of attendance. This course is not accredited.
