CITB have introduced a new initiative called the Employer Network simplifying the way levy paying employers can access funding for training support. Training can be undertaken in anything that supports construction employees and can be online or in person. The scheme has reduced time consuming applications and can result in significant savings for the employer, with 70% of course fees being paid directly by CITB. Course:
Musculoskeletal injuries are of the most common type of work-related injury reported in the UK. They can have long-term effects that will sometimes significantly change a person’s quality of life. Investigations often conclude that the cause for the injury was completely preventable.
Aim:
The course seeks to widen delegate’s knowledge and understanding about manual handling operations and the working activities or situations where a worker is at risk of injury. The course touches on what to do when hazardous moving and handling task cannot be avoided. Describes the dynamic assessment of tasks and what can be done to reduce risk of injury.
Who should Attend:
Workers who routinely do manual handling activities and anyone responsible for planning or supervising manual handling working activities.
Course Outline:
• Identify injuries caused by unsafe manual handling.
• Understand legislation relating to manual handling.
• Understand basic anatomy of the spine.
• Be aware of the principles of safer handling and develop safe handling techniques.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment.
• Practical techniques and means to reduce risk of harm
Duration:
2-hours. Held at a location of your choice. This course can also be conducted using either Zoom or Teams applications.
At the completion of the course delegates will be given a certificate of attendance. This course is not accredited.
