Exciting Course Announcements and Success Stories

Following last month’s newsletter update on our course development efforts, we’re pleased to officially announce that our new courses are now live!

We’re especially proud to share that our first run of the Fire Safety in Design and Construction course was a resounding success. This comprehensive program is tailored for professionals in design roles (including Principal Designers), contractors (including Principal Contractors), architects, fire safety professionals, and enforcers.

The feedback from our initial participants has been overwhelmingly positive. Learners particularly appreciated the real-life scenarios, which provided practical insights into fire safety within the context of building design.

Bleddyn Escott, Director at Prevention 1st, who recently completed the course, shared his thoughts:

“The Fire Safety in Design and Construction course is a crucial bridge between the construction industry, CDM, and the fire industry. The real-life scenarios offer practical, hands-on experience that immediately reinforces theoretical learning. This course will change your way of thinking and fully equip you to assess and challenge fire safety designs and strategies in any project. I’ve highly recommended it to my peers and look forward to integrating the two industries further.”

But that’s not all—we’re also delighted that our Fire Stopping Inspection in Construction course was successfully delivered in Solihull for employees at Glencar. This course focuses on critical inspection stages before, during, and after fire-stopping installation, ensuring compliance and enhancing safety across projects; minimising project delays and prioritising early engagement.

We look forward to welcoming more professionals to these transformative courses, which can be delivered at our premises or yours. For more information, please contact us directly.

Don’t forget CITB levy payers can take advantage of a 70% discount by contacting your local CITB advisor and selecting Safety For as your training provider.

“Back to Basics” with Our CDM Advisors and Competence Support

In response to recent HSE reports highlighting gaps in essential project requirements, Safety For is launching a “Back to Basics” initiative within our CDM Advisory services. We’ve observed that critical health and safety fundamentals are often overlooked, leading to projects moving forward without these key elements in place.

Over the next month, our “Back to Basics” campaign will focus on reinforcing the importance of core health and safety compliance, ensuring these vital practices are consistently implemented across all projects.

This philosophy should be integrated into every workplace. With busy schedules and stretched resources, it’s easy for employers to overlook essential tasks like monitoring and reviewing procedures, inspecting and servicing equipment, maintaining the working environment, or providing necessary training and communication to keep the workforce informed and protected.

By revisiting the basics, we help ensure that both employers and employees fulfil their legal duties under health and safety law, creating safer, more compliant workplaces.
