Exciting New Fire Safety Courses Under Development
At Safety For, we are dedicated to enhancing fire safety in the construction industry. We are thrilled to announce the development of several specialised fire courses designed by industry experts to ensure compliance, safety, and professional excellence.
Fire Stopping and Inspection in Construction
Our Fire Stopping and Inspection in Construction course will provide essential training on ensuring fire stopping installations meet all legal and safety standards. Over three days, participants will learn about fire stopping products, inspection techniques, and the latest industry practices. The course includes tutor-led sessions and group discussions aimed at improving competence, enhancing company reputation, and advancing career prospects in the construction industry.
Fire Safety in Design and Construction
We have developed a Fire Safety in Design and Construction (Including Relevant Buildings) course. This course is designed for designers (including Principal Designers), contractors (including Principal Contractors) and fire safety professionals, offering in-depth fire knowledge based on PAS 8670, PAS 8671 and PAS 8672 competence frameworks. Participants will explore legislative requirements, design codes, and approved documents necessary for ensuring building safety, including in high-risk buildings (HRBs). Key topics include BS9999, Approved Document B of the Building Regulations, fire strategies, and Building Safety Case.
Comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment Courses
In addition to these specialised courses, we have created a suite of fire risk assessment courses tailored for various stages of construction. These courses are categorised into Low, Medium and High Risk to enable a structured approach to the development of fire safety arrangements on all construction sites. Learners will gain an appreciation of not just HSE requirements and guidance, but also fire service requirements, British standards, and relevant PAS documentation, resulting in a robust methodology to fire safety, and fire risk assessment going forward.
CITB Approval and Funding
We are delighted to announce that our fire safety in construction courses have been approved by CITB through the Employer Network. This means CITB levy payers will only pay 30% of the course costs. CITB will cover 70% of the cost and handle all bookings on your behalf. Safety For will invoice you for 30% of the course costs before the start date—no unnecessary paperwork, grant claims, or skills matrix planning. The Employer Network route is a user-friendly, quick, and easy alternative to traditional CITB funding methods. For more information, please give our office a call and chat with our training team, or speak to your local CITB advisor.
Expanded Fire Services
To complement our new training offerings, we now provide fire risk assessments for construction sites, general fire risk assessments, and fire door inspections by NAFDI accredited fire door inspectors.
At Safety For, we recognise the critical importance of fire safety in construction. Our goal is to be your go-to training provider, equipping you and your staff with essential fire safety knowledge to ensure compliance and safety on all projects. Stay tuned for more updates on our course offerings and launch dates.
Insight from Alan - Benefits of a Lunchtime Walk
Embracing a lunchtime walk is a simple yet impactful way to enhance your well-being during the workday. Stepping outside and taking a stroll can do wonders for your mood, energy levels, and overall health. Not only does it boost your physical well-being by increasing heart rate and circulation, but it also helps alleviate muscle stiffness and improve posture, especially for those who spend long hours sitting at a desk.
In addition to the physical benefits, a lunchtime walk can also have a positive impact on your mental health. Exposure to nature has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, leading to a clearer mind and a more positive outlook for the rest of the day. Moreover, taking a break from work to walk allows your mind to wander and can spark new ideas and solutions to problems you may be facing. It can also break the monotony of the workday, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle tasks with renewed focus and enthusiasm.
Furthermore, walking with colleagues can foster better relationships and teamwork. Informal conversations during a walk can lead to stronger connections and a more collaborative work environment. Ultimately, investing a small amount of time in a lunchtime walk can result in significant returns in terms of health, happiness, and workplace efficiency.
