Eye Wash Station- A quick check

If you work in an area of manufacturing, construction, fabrication, foreign objects can and do get into your eyes, and off we pop to see the first aider, and in most cases, we have our eyes washed out with an item similar to what is shown in Picture 1.

Once opened the residual contents need to be disposed of as their level of sterility is compromised, so consider adding the smaller dosed versions also seen in the photograph to your first aid kits;

Check your eyewash for expiration dates:

Place your eyewash station in a carefully selected location – near to an activity which could result in it’s use, wall fixings with mirrors should be fixed at a height that mirrors can be used by all;

Plan regular checks to ensure replenishment/replacement as needed, and;

If you ever encounter what is shown on the right side of picture 2 dispose and restock the kit.
