Breast Cancer Awareness Day

As Breast Cancer Awareness Day is on the Friday 20th October, this is a good time to remind us all to do the checks:

  • Touch your breasts, can you feel anything new or unusual?

  • Look for changes, does anything look different to you?

  • Check any new or unusual with your GP

  • Spread the word and encourage your friends and family to do their checks as well.

  • Educate yourself about the risk factors and symptoms of breast cancer.

  • Remember that early detection is key in fighting breast cancer.

  • Encourage women of all ages to get regular mammograms.

  • Offer support and a listening ear to those who have been affected by breast cancer.

  • Remember that breast cancer can affect anyone, regardless of gender, so it's important for everyone to be aware and proactive.

  • Check regularly and be aware of anything that’s new or different to you.

  • Get your partner to help check too, if you are not sure, always get it checked out.

  • Never feel uncomfortable.

  • Never miss any breast screening appointments.

Let's work together to raise awareness and find a cure for breast cancer.

There are many websites out there to help show you how to properly check yourself with lots of helpful information and advise: Here are a few:
